Frequently asked questions

Which links work?

Links to public Instagram videos (Reels and video posts) and TikTok videos. YouTube, Stories and private accounts are out.

How long can the video be?

3 minutes. Longer videos are turned down before anything starts, without using your limit.

How many videos can I transcribe?

Up to 4 every 15 minutes, counting links and uploads together. The same video in the same language doesn’t count again, and failed attempts don’t count.

Can I download the video here?

No. This page only transcribes. The text and the subtitles are ready to copy or download.

What if the video is on my phone?

Then you don’t need a link: upload the file on video to text.

Does it work with videos in other languages?

Yes. The AI detects the spoken language. If it gets it wrong, tap Another language above the text: the first change for each video, each day, is free.

Does it pick up text written on the screen?

No. Only speech goes in. On-screen text and the post caption are left out.

Do you keep the video or the text?

Not the video. The text of a public video may stay in a cache for up to 7 days, identified only by the video’s code, with nothing about you.
