Cookie policy
Updated on October 25, 2026
Cookies are small files a site saves in your browser to remember something, like your choice in “Cookie preferences”. Some are ours. Others belong to providers such as Cloudflare and Google. Similar technologies, like the browser’s local storage, follow the same rules on this page.
What stays in your browser
The audio you pick never becomes a cookie. It stays in the tab’s memory while it uploads and, if you use “Another language”, while the page is open. Closing or reloading the tab clears it.
The site also keeps, only on your device:
- the last transcript, in session storage, for up to 15 minutes, so it comes back if the tab reloads. It never goes to our server and is gone when you close the tab;
- a note that the quota rule was already shown, in local storage, so it isn’t repeated;
- on Android, the audio received through Share, in the site’s own storage, only until the page reads it. It’s deleted right away;
- the small program that receives the Share (a service worker), installed when you open the site. It doesn’t store pages or work offline: it only receives the shared file.
How you choose
In Brazil, the site doesn’t show a cookie notice on arrival: analytics and personalized ads are on, and you can decline anytime. Tap “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page. Two buttons appear.
- Accept turns on analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and personalized ad cookies.
- Decline keeps those cookies off. Ads continue without personalization. They may still use cookies to limit repetition, measure results and fight fraud.
Your choice is kept for 12 months. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland see Google’s consent message: there, analytics and personalized ads only turn on after you consent.
Categories
- Necessary: security, your cookie choice and what the tool keeps on your device (above). You can’t decline them in “Cookie preferences”, but you can block them in your browser.
- Analytics: count visits and show which pages help (Google Analytics). They never receive the file name, the transcript or the exact length of the audio. You can decline.
- Advertising: show and measure ads, limit repetition and, if you accept, personalize them (Google AdSense and partners). You can decline personalization, not the ads.
Main cookies
- Cookie choice (pegafala.com.br): remembers whether you accepted or declined. Lasts 12 months.
__cf_bm(Cloudflare): tells people from bots. Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity._gaand_ga_*(Google Analytics): tell visitors and sessions apart. Last 2 years.__gadsand similar (Google AdSense): show and measure ads and limit repetition. Last 13 months.IDE(Google, on doubleclick.net): ads on partner sites and, if enabled, personalization. Lasts 13 months in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and 24 months elsewhere.
Providers change names and durations from time to time.
Google advertising cookies
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other sites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
- To opt out of Google’s personalized advertising, use Ads Settings.
- Other vendors and ad networks may also use cookies here. To opt out of their personalization, use optout.aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- More at https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.
To block Google Analytics on any site, there’s the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Managing cookies in your browser
The tool works even with third-party cookies blocked.
- Chrome on Android: three-dot menu > Settings > Site settings > Third-party cookies. To clear: Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data.
- Safari on iPhone: Settings > Apps > Safari (on older iOS, Settings > Safari): “Block All Cookies” and “Clear History and Website Data”.
- Chrome on desktop: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies.
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Clearing site data also removes the service worker and what the tool kept. If you had declined cookies, decline again in “Cookie preferences”.
